Deepika was lucky enough to get a debut film Sun Meri Laila opposite Raj Kiran in 1983. Then she got famous in the Hindi film industry and she got back to back three films with the Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna which were Rupaye Dus Karod, Ghar ka Chiraag and Khudai.
These films changed the life of Deepika as she got a lot of stardom and fans after she did this film she was quite famous in the industry now. After trying her luck in the Bollywood industry, he tried her luck in another industry and she was quite successful as she started getting a lot of work from other industries as well. She did one Malayalam film in the year 1986 Mammootty, which was Ithile Iniyum Varu.
She also got a Kannada which was Hosa Jeevan in 1990 she did that film with Shankar Nath Nag and Indrajith. She continued to land lead roles in popular Television shows such as The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Luv Kush (both in 1989). Ghar Ka Chiraag (1989) and Rupaye Dus Karod (1991), both starring Rajesh Khanna, were her sole Hindi film successes. She gained more screen time in the 1994 picture Khudai, although it was a box office flop. In the films Ghar Ka Chirag and Khudai, she played Rajesh Khanna’s love lead.
