Manoj Sane met Saraswati Vaidya for the first time at a ration shop in the Babhai Naka area of Borivali in 2008. Both of them were orphans and started living together in 2015. They lived in the G Wing of the Geeta Akash Deep building in Geeta Nagar Phase 7, Mira Bhayandar Road, Mumbai for five years until 2020. Then, they moved to flat number 704 of J Wing in the same building.
After the murder news of Saraswati Vaidya became viral, it was alleged that they were in a relationship; however, Manoj Sane said during the investigation that he never had a physical relationship with her, and she was like a daughter to him. Apparently, he used to teach her maths as she was planning to appear for 10th standard exams. Neighbours believed that they were a married couple; however, no marriage certificate was found. The flat was rented under Manoj’s name.
Murdering Saraswati Vaidya
On the night of June 7, 2023, Manoj’s neighbours had lodged a complaint with the police about foul smell coming from his flat, after which when the police reached the spot,
Everyone was shocked by the sight they saw as they found pieces of dead body of Saraswati Vaidya in the bathroom who was allegedly murdered on 4th June 2023.
On further enquiry, it was found that Manoj had cut Saraswati’s body into pieces for disposing of it and for this he had also brought a tile cutter machine with help of which he used to cut the body into pieces and to get rid of the foul smell, The body parts were cooked in a pressure cooker.
In their investigation, the police recovered Saraswati’s feet and other charred body parts from the flat, along with which Manoj had also bought oil bottles to delay the decomposition of the body.
However, the police have sent Saraswati’s body parts till RK for forensic examination and when Manoj was trying to escape from the building, the police nabbed him in the lift with the help of the residents.
After this, on June 8, 2023, a complaint of the applicant was lodged against the accused Manoj Sane under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC at the Naya Nagar police station of the police station and he was presented in the court.

As per reports, it has been learned that Manoj told the police that he was inspired by the Shraddha Walker murder case and thought that he too could dispose of the body parts in the same manner.
